Among the victims of the rainstorm in Nova Scotia, Natalie Hazel Harnish’s loss hits hard. Born on November 11, 2016, she was interested in cheerleading.
Harnish loved the sport so much that she was often seen cartwheeling around the house. She likely aspired to be a renowned cheerleader in the future.
Aside from cheerleading, the young lady enjoyed visiting zoos with her family. She loved visiting the bear, Blueberry, during her visits to the Oaklawn Zoo.
Natalie loved donning colorful dresses and acting like a princess. She was the apple of her parents’ eyes, always doting on her. Likewise, her brother, Christian, always accompanied her wherever she wanted to go.
Unfortunately, the little girl is no more. She fell victim to the floodwaters that swept her while trying to escape. She was only six at the time of her passing.
Aside from Natalie, a member of the Hogtooth band, Nicolas Anthony Holland passed away due to the rainstorm. He was passionate about music and enjoyed performing in his band.
Holland was a family man with two children and a loving partner. His former spouse, Julie Griffin Holland, called him a hero during her heartfelt tribute.

The Nova Scotia flooding caused damage in multiple places and caused tragedies for many residents. The Harnish household is one of the victims whose beacon of light was taken away due to the tragedy.
As per her obituary published on Arbor Memorial, Natalie Hazel Harnish’s parents are Nick Harnish and Courtney Harnish. She had a loving brother named Christian Harnish.
Following her tragic demise, Natalie’s dad, mom, and brother survive her. Her grandparents, Dianne Riley and Ian Riley, Nancy Harnish and Dale Harnish, also survive her.
Others include her uncles Greg Harnish, Issac Payne, aunts Phalieshia Payne and Katelynnu Cochrane, and relatives. Anyone who knew her will miss her dearly.
Likewise, Harnish’s great-grandparents, Lillian Harnish, Sam Harnish, Hazel Trefry, Emerson Trefry, and Barbara Payne, preceded her.
The young girl’s funeral arrangements have been arranged on July 31, 2023. The service will be organized in the Brooklyn Fire Hall, followed by a reception.
Alongside Harnish, her adorable pet Molly also passed away. Both will be laid to rest side by side.
