Then, around 10:45 p.m. Saturday night, Hoover police received a call stating that Russell had returned to her home. In response to the latest development, police went to her home to conduct further inquiries, Newsweek reported on Sunday.

Before Carlee Russell was found safe, CCTV footage of Interstate 459 South surfaced on the internet.
Footage shows their car stopping with the hazard lights on and a figure believed to be Carlee exiting the vehicle before disappearing.
The video was sourced from the Traffic Cam Archive, which collects and sells traffic camera footage.
She went missing Thursday after calling 911 just after 9:30 p.m. to report that she had seen a child traveling on I-459 in Hoover, Alabama.
After making the 911 call, she contacted her brother’s friend and stopped to check on the child, who is said to be around three or four years old.
The family member overheard Carlee speaking to the child on the phone and asked if he was okay. Suddenly, they heard Carlee scream and the call was cut off, leaving only the sounds of traffic.
When police arrived, they found Carlee’s red Mercedes still running and some of her personal belongings, including her phone. However, on Saturday, July 15, 2023, Carlee returned home late.
