The actor actively updates all the news from his professional life on social media. Although the Oakland native’s commitment to SWAT remains, many of her fans are concerned. It’s unclear how and why Moore’s departure from action-packed drama is trending.
But it appears to have arisen from prior uncertainty about the show’s new season. In May 2023, the CBS drama was canceled, causing quite a stir. However, it was renewed for Season 7 shortly thereafter.
Reportedly, SWAT Season 7 will be released sometime in the 2023-2024 television season. Additionally, Moore recently shared exciting and historic news regarding SWAT Season 6.

Is Shemar Moore Joining Criminal Minds?
Shemar Moore left Criminal Minds in 2016 after season 11, saying he wanted to try new things and focus on his personal life.
Although he returned for a few guest appearances in seasons 12 and 13, he was not a part of the series finale, which took place in 2020.
However, the performer reportedly expressed his willingness to return for revival series Criminal Minds: Evolution in late 2022.
He said he’d like to go back and flirt with his “baby girl” Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) and chase strangers. However, he did mention that his current role as Hondo on SWAT could create a scheduling conflict.
As such, it looks like Moore won’t be joining Criminal Minds anytime soon, but he doesn’t rule out the possibility of a cameo or guest appearance in the future.
He’s still very busy with SWAT and his personal life, including his newborn daughter Frankie and occasional visits to his former soap opera The Young and the Restless.
Still, Shemar Moore isn’t leaving the CBS action drama SWAT. The drama team recently celebrated season 6’s nomination for the 2023 Emmy Awards.
